Root Canal Therapy

What is a Laser assisted Root Canal?

A laser assisted root canal is a common dental procedure that involves removing the infected or damaged pulp from inside a tooth but its all done under PHOTOBIOMODULATION. The pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels, can become infected due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures, or trauma to the tooth. By performing a laser assisted root canal, we can eliminate the infection and save your tooth from extraction with absolute no pain even after the anesthesia is gone.

Symptoms Indicating a Need for a Root Canal

Several symptoms may indicate that you need a root canal. These include:

  • Severe toothache pain, especially when chewing or applying pressure
  • Prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold temperatures
  • Discoloration or darkening of the tooth
  • Swelling and tenderness in nearby gums
  • A persistent or recurring pimple on the gums

If you experience any of these symptoms, it’s crucial to schedule an appointment with us as soon as possible. Early detection and treatment can prevent further complications and ensure the best outcome.

The Root Canal Procedure

The root canal procedure is straightforward and usually completed in one to two visits. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Examination and X-ray: We start by examining your tooth and taking X-rays to assess the extent of the infection.
  2. Anesthesia: Local anesthesia is administered to numb the area, ensuring you remain comfortable throughout the procedure.
  3. Pulp Removal: An opening is made in the crown of the tooth to access the pulp chamber. The infected pulp is carefully removed.
  4. Cleaning and Shaping: The inside of the tooth is cleaned, disinfected, and shaped to prepare for filling.
  5. Filling: The cleaned and shaped space is filled with a biocompatible material called gutta-percha, which seals the tooth.
  6. Laser Therapy: A diode laser therapy is carried out for 2-5 minutes at tooth level and at the lymph nodes, which reduces the inflammation.
  7. Restoration: Finally, a filling and a digittaly designed 3D printed crown is placed on the tooth to restore its function and appearance.

Laser assisted Root canal treatment offers several benefits:

  • Pain Relief: It alleviates the pain caused by the infected pulp.
  • Tooth Preservation: It saves your natural tooth, preventing the need for extraction.
  • Improved Oral Health: It helps prevent the spread of infection to other teeth and tissues.

Aftercare and Recovery

After the laser assisted root canal, there is absolutely no discomfort nor any sensitivity as the LASER therapy has taken away all the inflammation and hence the treatment becomes painfree.
